The pulp consists of small black edible seeds covered with a juicy, crystalline, transparent and gelatinous texture. Its flavor is sweet and has a pleasant aroma. Traditionally it is consumed raw, for this, the peel is simply broken with the fingers and the pulp is eaten with a spoon.
